The Premier Bush Racing Carnival

Although the races have been cancelled due to equine influenza the party is still going on. Compass invites you to fly to the worlds premier bush racing carnival, the world famous Birsdville Races in Birdsville, Queensland. the annual event will be held on the 31st August -2nd September, 2007.

Compass will operate two services from Sydney, a daily service from Brisbane, and flights from Adelaide via Broken Hill on Saturday and Sunday to the event.

A special CTAF(R) will be created from 08312200UTC until 09020900UTC (Fri 31st 0800 EST until Sun 2nd 1900 EST)

A series of special radio procedures to minimise radio traffic have been developed. Details can be found from Airservices Australia

This year we anticipate using our smaller Metro, Beech and Saab aircraft for the trip, although the larger Dash 8 may still be required if passenger numbers require it. Timetables as published here are based upon the Beech and/or Metro. For use by Saab and/or Dash 8 reduce times for Brisbane flights by 20 minutes, Sydney flights by 30 minutes and each sector of the Adelaide-Broken Hill flight by 10 minutes.
